Chef Prem Tamang's Journey

Cuisine of Nepal is founded by Chef Prem Tamang, born and raised in Nepal in a Tamang family. His journey to becoming a celebrated chef is a testament to passion, dedication, and the love of authentic Nepali cuisine.

From working as a porter in Kathmandu to mastering Nepali culinary arts, Chef Prem developed his passion for authentic flavors through years of learning traditional cooking techniques from his family and community. Growing up in the Tamang community, he was surrounded by the rich culinary heritage of Nepal, where food is not just sustenance but a celebration of culture and tradition.

After moving to the United States, Chef Prem dedicated himself to sharing the rich taste of Himalayan cuisine with the Bay Area community. He saw an opportunity to introduce San Francisco to the authentic flavors of Nepal โ€“ the aromatic spices, the handcrafted momos, and the warming curries that remind him of home.

Chef Prem prepares every dish with fresh ingredients, handcrafted spices, and Nepal's traditional cooking techniques. He believes that food should tell a story, and every plate that leaves his kitchen carries the essence of the Himalayan mountains and the warmth of Nepali hospitality.
